North Porch Reindeer Unit

Reindoge

One Shiba. Two antlers. Every doorstep accounted for.

Winter Duties

Rudy inspects every winter arrival.

  • Door Duty

He holds the top step until every mittened visitor states their full name and business.

  • Bell Check

One quiet nod confirms the jingle is properly tuned before the evening neighborhood round begins.

  • Carrot Review

Only crisp specimens reach the sack; limp ones return directly to the kitchen bowl.

The Long Shift

By late afternoon, the stone steps keep the last patch of sun. Rudy settles there in the reindeer hood, bell centered, antlers upright, and watches the neighborhood prepare for supper behind closed curtains. Delivery vans are tolerated. Squirrels are not. When the porch light clicks on, he makes one slow inspection of the gate, then resumes looking profoundly unconvinced.

Keep the carrots where Rudy can see.
